Plays
Nihil Project is an open collective devoted to
psychedelia, we collaborate with a wide range of artists and on this
album we have worked with a number of musicians from Britain such as
the ex Blossom Toes Brian Godding, Sedayne, The Anvil, Gav Dunn, The
Kitchen Cynics, Orph and LSD from Electronic Voice Phenomena and
Simon Lewis of The Phoenix Cube. The album title comes from our
shared love of the informal, rough plough plays in January still
performed in the East Midlands. Performers drawn from the
population, hidden by guises telling ancient scripts they cannot
know the primitive sources of. We couldn’t imagine a more fitting
concept.
On this album we focus on British folk music and folklore
interweaving our songs and lyrics with traditional sources. Plough
Plays is based on folk but is deeply psychedelic and also
incorporates electronics.
